Mr. Laxman Pradhan

President

Mr. Laxman Pradhan is currently working as a Principal Tax Specialist at Capital One, N.A.  Prior to joining Capital One, Mr. Pradhan worked with Chevy Chase Bank as an Assistant Vice President.  He also served with Lockheed Martin, Riggs Bank and MCI WorldCom at different capacities.  Professionally, he is a CPA and a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  He jointly owns a tax and accounting consulting firm Everest Accounting Services, Inc. in Virginia.  For more than 10 years, Mr. Pradhan has been very active in Nepali communities in Washington D.C.  He has served 8 years in NPPA Executive Committee, 4 years as a Vice President and 4 years as a Treasurer.  Mr. Pradhan is also a General Secretary at a non-profit organization named Bandipures in North America (BNA).  He received his M.B.A. from American University and is also currently pursuing his MS in Taxation at American University, Washington D.C.  He lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife Sarita Pradhan and two children Anish and Ashna.

Mrs. Saroj Prajapati

Vice-President I

Mrs. Saroj Prajapati is well-known among Nepalese Community in DC area. She is also a founding member of Nepal Pasa Pucha Amerikaye. Her philosophy in keeping and preserving one’s own identity is most important part of the life. Her involvement with many Nepalese organizations such as ANA, NECC, ANS and NPPA for many years showed her dedication and support to the community. She had also served as a Program Coordinator for Phoolbari Cultural Club for more than ten years to promote Nepali culture programs in USA. Professionally, Mrs. Prajapati has been working for Lockheed Martin Corporation as Staff Financial Analyst in Finance and Business Operations.  She was graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with two majors Accounting and Technology Management.  Mrs. Prajapati lives in Maryland, and married to Krishna Prajapati, and has two children Pradeep and Promita.

Mr. Sundar Rajbhandari

Vice-President II

Mr. Sundar Rajbhandari is a business entrepreneur from Baltimore, MD. He co-owns Kathmandu Kitchen in Towson.  He is also actively involved in various Nepali organizations in Baltimore. He is president of Nirvana Foundation. Primary goal of Nirvana Foundation is to sponsor nursing students in Nepal. Foundation also aims for woman empowerment and health related projects in rural Nepal. Mr. Rajbhandari is also an Advisor of Human Right Organization USA (HURON-USA). He lives in Owings Mills, MD with his wife Sabira Rajbhadari.

Mr. Raju Joshee

General Secretary

Mr. Raju Joshee is a Senior Technology and Management Consultant.  He has more than 15 years of experience in IT and Energy Industry. He has worked as Practice Lead at Sun Microsystems, Senior Project Manager at Cummins and as a Managing Director at iApex, Inc. and C-MODE, Inc. Mr. Joshee is also a successful entrepreneur, who has successfully established several IT and energy companies in Nepal and in the US. Mr. Joshee provides expert services in the field of Business Process Modeling, Management Consulting, IT Strategic Planning, Development and implementation for large Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Manufacturing, and Financial Services Industries. Mr. Joshee is also an Executive Committee Member of Bandipures in North America (BNA). He received his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from Belarusian National Technical University in Minsk, Belarus and Masters in Business Administration from Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN. He lives in Odenton, MD with his wife Shilu and daughters Sahara, Sarahana and Savannah.

Mrs. Beena Baidya

Treasurer

Mrs. Beena Baidya moved to Maryland seven years ago from Columbus, OH. She has been actively involved in various social organizations. Mrs. Baidya is also a life member of ANMA and a Volunteer Member of ANWA Free Medical Clinic. She has served as a Treasurer of Association of Nepalese in Midwest America for 2 years. She lives in Lanham, MD with her husband Dr. Maheswor Baidya.

Mrs. Shanti Shrestha

Executive Member – Dabu Publishing

Mrs. Shanti Shrestha is currently working as a Desktop Specialist at EU Services in Rockville, Maryland. For more than 20 years, Shanti has been very active in the Nepali community in Washington D.C Area. For the past decade, she has been helping Nepa Pasa Pucha Amerikaye in publishing the DABU Magazine yearly, volunteering different NPPA’s activities such as organizing cultural programs, administrating registration. Mrs. Shanti Shrestha was awarded for her exceptional and long-term service provide to NPPA. Mrs. Shrestha is also the Registration Chairwoman for the DC Nepali School in Vienna Virginia. She received her Associate in Arts from Prince George Community College and is also currently pursuing her BA in Business Management at University of Maryland, College Park. She currently lives in Gaithersburg, Maryland with her husband Pancha Shrestha and her three children, Pukar Sweekar and Kriti.
